We are a hunger relief agency that serves the residents of the Oregon Trail School District. (Enter your address at this link to see if you are within the district’s boundaries )

The Sandy Community Action Center was founded in 1961 by Pete and Helen Sulzback, and Frank and Joyce Marcy. They loaded food and warm clothing into the trunks of their cars and took it to the migrant work camps around Sandy. From that humble beginning, the Center has grown into what it is today: the oldest food box agency and emergency resource center in Clackamas County.

The Sandy Community Action Center (a/k/a Sandy Community Action Council, Inc.) was established as a 501(c)(3) in 1969.

The Sandy Community Action Center operates under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors and a small professional staff.

The Sandy Community Action Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. It is funded by donations from individuals, businesses, religious organizations, service groups and fundraising events. All donations to the Sandy Community Action Center are tax-deductible.
