The Sandy Community Action Center was founded in 1961 by Pete and Helen Sulzback, and Frank and Joyce Marcy. They loaded food and warm clothing in to the trunks of their cars and took it to the migrant work camps around Sandy. From that humble beginning, the Center has grown into what it is today: the oldest food box agency and emergency resource center in Clackamas County.
The Sandy Community Action Center (a/k/a Sandy Community Action Council, Inc.) was established as a 501©(3) in 1969.
